Sex and.....the broken blood vessels

So, Carol and John Z. - how do you like that title for drawing you back into the blog??
Huh, huh?

So let's go.

I decided to go off the rails and, I know it's crazy, but I decided to go to a movie!! Bad mother, bad wife, I know, I know. The movie in question was, of course, Sex in the City. I liked the show, I saw all the hype and being a somewhat anti-hype person (having been raised by the holy hype herself) I still bought into it.

And I must say - it was GOOD! My butt didn't hurt once! In case you weren't aware - I judge movies by how many times during the course of the movie I notice that my butt hurts from sitting in the chair. The more times I notice, the worse the movie. So zero butt hurts is like 5 thumbs up or something. Work with me here I'm a little rusty.

Anyway, it was a good movie that I went to with my friend Linda, who always makes the experience more fun.

Sooo, I got home at the late hour of 9:3o and checked on the kids. Brooke's light was still on so I leaned over to give her a kiss and realized she was mini-polka dotted. I immediately woke John and said, "What is with Brooke's face?" He said, "Wha, wha, wha??" As might be expected when you wake a sleeping giant.

I said, "Brooke has spots all over her face, what happened?"

He basically said he didn't know and that it had happened last week when we freaked out and it went away the next day. I said he didn't understand what I had seen so I dragged him into the room to see mini-pd. He still shuffled it off though I'm pretty sure he was just still sleeping.

In the morning it seemed to have subsided somewhat but again this was 4:30 when I was getting ready to go to work so I, then, may not have been totally awake.

Long story short John ended up bringing her to the doctor the next day because after he dropped her at school and then called to check on her later he realized it wasn't just going away.

It turns out that the night before (the bad Mommy night when I went to the movie) Brooke had had a tantrum at about 8:30 and cried so hard that she had burst blood vessels in her face. True story. I couldn't make this up. So now she is polka dotted for 2 weeks until they heal. Honest to God.

On another note - I have recommendation for all the women who read my blog:

COVERGIRL - OUTLAST LIP COLOR

I am telling you - this stuff DOES stay on all day. It's like paint or something. My friend Joan works for P&G (Proctor & Gamble) and gave me a ton of free samples of stuff I wouldn't normally try. Well, this stuff is amazing. You put on the color, wait 2 min for it to dry and then apply a gloss (which I'm pretty sure is just vaseline) as you need to. The gloss brings the color back to life immediately. I'm telling you it's amazing. I hate having to reapply lipstick but the gloss is similar to a chapstick which, for some reason, isn't such a big deal to put on.
I'm telling you, spend the $6 and try it!
