Gymnastics it is!

So we are going with gymnastics which makes me happy!

Before a quick post I have to add these links from a night we had some friends over (last Sat.). The Garrity's have two kids, Sydney and Marco, who played with our kids really well. Mike Garrity went to school with John and Helen is his wife ( you see her briefly in the video). Check out the musical trio at the following links:

Isn't that so cute! Lexi is so funny - just right out there.

We just got back from NH and I haven't had a chance to upload the pics but should soon. It was a great time though, as usual, Yia Yia and I were pretty wiped out by the end of it. I'll post with the pictures sometime this week.

Soccer or Gymnastics?

Brooke starts kindergarten in 3 weeks and already I have a dilemma. Soccer sign-up for kindergarteners ends tomorrow. I had planned to have her do Gymnastics at the YMCA (which she loves and requested to take again, instead of swimming) but now, I'm not sure if I should:

a) tell her about Soccer
b) tell her that her friend Victoria will be playing soccer
c) just sign her up for Gymnamstics and hope she's happy

I know it sounds crazy but I never got to start a sport and stick with it like most kids did. The reasons are many and to be consistent let's stick with an alphebetized list:

a) I'm uncoordinated
b) I'm somewhat handicapped (arthritis) - though probably not so much that I couldn't have tried a little harder
c) I went to 9 (which is not 12 as I've been going around telling everyone but my mother and I counted the other night and it's officially 9) grammer schools
d) I'm slower than molasses - true story - they used to have me run the relay race with acutal handicapped kids - and they would win!
e) just didn't like sports much, all the running, crying, not getting picked, etc.

So I'm hoping my kids have a different experience. So far (thank you God) they don't have to worry about B or C. As to A and D it's a little too early to tell but already they are faster than me but refer back to E you'll realize that's not saying much.

I guess I'll let her pick because then, when she yells at me when she's 13 for not being on the soccer/gymnastics team, I can blame her!
