Wow what a day

Yesterday was quite the day -

Started at midnight with Lexi puking on and off all night which resulted in literally 8 loads of laundry to be done in the morning.
Had to call in sick but still had 4 conference calls I had to attend to with both kids home.
Brooke fell down the stairs while I was yelling at her to go clean her room.
Washing machine overflowed though I don't blame it - I'd be pissed at me too.
Picked Brooke up from school, brought the little red wagon thinking it would be nice for her to get a ride with Lexi - turns out they were dragging their hands under the wagon and when I felt a bah-bump and turned around to see what I rolled over it ended up being Brooke's hand which now resembles a scuffed up eggplant.
Day wound down with another round of vomit and one set of sheets ready for the laundry which currently lay putrifying in the laundy area.

I'm so glad I'm at work today!

Two things to recommend

I watched a cool movie last night - Deception with Hugh Jackman. It was a thriller but it kept your attention and who doesn't like looking at Hugh, really?

The other thing to recommend is REDBOXes http://blog.redbox.com/. On Wednesdays you visit the site and they have a code for a free Redbox rental for that night. Good deal! I think it may only be through March so take advantage!

This weekend the girls and I went on a mini-vacation with Sha to beautiful Foxboro, MA. Why you might ask? We went to the travel show at Gillette stadium and then used Marriott points to stay at a hotel nearby. It was really a blast! The pool was awesome and we just goofed around and had a good time. The kids loved filling the ice buckets at the ice machine and going to the little mini-market for supremely over-priced treats. A great way to kick the winter blues!

The dilemma this week is whether to try to get Alexis out of Cherubs and into a Montessori type of setting in the Fall. Of course organized mothers have already made this decision and applied within the listed dealines (which were January if you can imagine). Thankfully the economy is in the bleeper and the Montessori schools are still looking for applicants. The issues are the commute to the schools, the schedules (some are half day others are weird hours) and the money (of course). I think she would love it there but that's sort of like saying I'd love a BMW. Or is it? Also, if she Montessori's now will she be bored out of her mind when she matriculated back into public school? I don't see us forking over $10,000 every year when we pay taxes for public school. The justification right now is that we are paying for daycare anyway why not pay for a better educational experience? As usual it's all a blur and will sort itsefl out somehow. Stay tuned....

Clarification

I am still posting to Blogger!! I just update pics on Facebook more regularly so check there once in a while but I'll try to be better about pics on Blogger.
So today I am in a Zen like state about everything. I went swimming this morning and it cleared all of the cr*p. We had a superbowl party last night and I was in a funk because of lack of sleep and the impending Monday morning schedule change. Now that it's Monday I'm fine but thinking about it was bumming me out. Isn't that always the way? Thinking of something is much worse than the actual doing of it.
In more interesting news - Brooke lost her first tooth!! She was so excited she called all of the grandparents and danced around showing Lexi, me and Daddy for hours. It was one of those moments that makes you smile inside at how beautiful your children are. Lexi of course is wondering when anything is going to happen for her and not Brooke all the time. Thankfully her b'day is coming up so we can shower her with attention for a week - what? A birthday isn't a week, it is where I come from!

Facebook and Wii

I've not been posting lately to the blog because I've found a new medium: Facebook. It's much easier to post pictures there than on the blog so if you are interested in seeing pictures more regularly from the Vallier family join Facebook and befriend me and John. It's easy, I know people are reluctant but it's the new wave so jump on.

In that technological theme we got a Wii for Christmas which is awesome. We've been playing it non-stop to get over the winter doldrums. I had wanted the Wii fit which has yoga, aerobics, balancing, etc. but it wasn't really in the budget UNTIL...I sold my treadmill on Craig's List for $250, I then bought the Wii fit from someone on Craigs list for $110 when it's retailing for $150 where available on the internet. Pretty cool. And we got to go out to dinner. And the stupid treadmill is not clogging up the bedroom. So another thing I recommend highly is Craigs List if you have things you want to get rid of. The deal is the person has to come pick it up and bring cash. I guess sometimes people try to negotiate but that's up to you. Both people I dealt with were normal people who just wanted (or didn't want) what was listed.

Final recommendation - The Wayward Bus, John Steinbeck. Just reading it, love it of course. That man can write.
